Q400: aileron stuck with cold and dark state

My beloved Majestic Q400 is suddenly giving me problems: as soon as the cold and dark script has been loaded the aileron is completely stuck. Everything else works fine. Luckily the ready for taxi state doesn't have this problem so I can still fly the plane using that state but obviously I also want to be able to start the plane cold and dark! It's very odd: yesterday evening everything was perfectly fine and now suddenly, out of the blue, I have this odd problem!

Anyone here who has encountered the same problem and who knows a solution for this?

I also asked this on the Majestic forum but it's sunday so there might not be anyone around there today and I was hoping to do another complete flight this afternoon.

And yes, I encountered the same problem. The solution was to release the control lock ( just above the throttles). Just move it upwards..

You are sure GUST LOCK is OFF?
Fyi, ailerons are manually controlled, while elevators, spoilers and rudder are hydraulic controlled.  So the Gust lock only affects ailerons

Oh my goodness... do I feel stupid. That was it. The control lock. How come this never happened to me before...?! Seriously. Oh my. :blush:

We have all been beginners once.
I still forget those darned gear pins every now and then :D
