HOLD POINT

 Hi! Have completed about 90 hours of trouble-free flights with my B-744 license. Yesterday I got trouble with the flight planning. When I enter the route in CDU, "HOLD" is added automatically. "HOLD" is programmed both at departure and arrive. I have not intended to use the "HOLD" function. As usual, I use Simbrief for planning the route. Why is "HOLD" added automatically? I appreciate all the help I can get.

Most likely the nav data. Certain procedures include mandatory holds, so they're added in automatically.

It's very, very important that you don't assume things are problems simply because they are unexpected, by the way.

Thank´s for the information. I just don´t know why HOLD comes up now and not before. I have use the same route before and no HOLD point appears in the CDU FMC. I use Navigraph Data manager with accurate AIRAC.

Did you update your AIRAC by any chance? If so, it is possible that the procedures have changed since the last update.

Yes, I have update to 1712. I have not fly ESSA-LOWI since 1711. Possible the procedures have changed since the last update.
