Recommended Posts

There's a movie coming out called "Code Name Verity" which is based on a novel...amazing book about women pilots in WWII....and I pray the movie does it justice.

I suggest 'Mercy Mission: The Rescue of Flight 771' .

Robert Loggia plays a captain of an Air New Zealand 767 who goes out of his way to guide a 'lost' GA aircraft across the Pacific. The last 30 minutes of this film is real suspense. An excellent film.

The film 'Erebus: The Aftermath' is also a good film. Frank Finlay plays Justice Peter Mahon, who headed the accident enquiry re a Mt Erebus crash. He found damning evidence that Air NZ tried to cover up the cause and blame the flight crew.

Both excellent films.

Regards

Bill

The film tells the story prior to the accident LAPA Boeing 737 on 31 August 1999 after hitting an embankment in central Buenos Aires, killing 67 people. Directed and performed by a former pilot of the same company, this film reveals a complex web of complicity between the Air Force and the company to circumvent security controls in order to obtain greater economic benefit in operations.

You could always make your own action movie with your simulators lol, here's one I made ten years ago with a submarine sim and FSX:

Try this one.

The remark regarding Chesterfield cigarettes is well out of date!

Not only that Godfrey sounds pretty much under the influence all the time.

Well, he was under the influence of Chesterfield at least.  They were his sponsor, and that was a paid advertising placement.

Later on he turned against smoking and broke with them.

The Eastern film is very definitely a period piece.

I watched that several years ago. It was an excellent movie, albeit a bit of a nail-biter! :gaul:
