Just bought the Skymaster.

Recommended Posts

Loaded into the sim and took it for a circuit. Seems to behave like a layman such as myself would expect. Happy with the sale price I got it for. Lovely eye candy. However, are there any glaring issues and/or fixes still needed? Or would such "fixes" be desirable or even only noticeable to actual 337 pilots?

Thanks.

It's pretty good straight out of the box as I recall, unless you want to start adding some fancy radios and stuff, for those Bat 21 simulations (yeah I know it isn't exactly the right variant, but it's close enough lol).

Probably the most glaring flaw is the (very) negligible effect the cowl flaps on engine temperature. In the real world C337, management of rear engine temperature is a big part of the pilotage. The way fuel management works is also very different than the real world but at least there are the selector knobs so it can be "simulated".

Overall, this is one of my most flown models. It is a great IFR platform.

Glad you are a new fan!!

Chers guys! Henry I was a fan of the Skymaster/ O-2 ever since I was a boy & saw the finished Airfix kit my friend's Dad had built. When it came to flight simming however, I did try a freeware one ported to FSX the uninstalled it. It was the sale price which prompted me to by the Carenado one

I haven't searched for any repaints yet, but I wonder if anyone has painted fake windows on the fuselage to kind of make it more of an O-2 (and if they have, does it work?).
