Help! Blurry Terrain and Autogen Popping + 100% CPU

Recommended Posts

Hello guys, I have a huge problem. I have both prepar3d v3 and FSX. I enjoyed both of them for a long time. Then i updated windows 10 to the latest version. It seems to mess up my prepar3d. I tried everything and reset my windows. I thought it would fix my problem but no luck. And the worst thing is i can't go back to the old windows version because i reset it. My problem is blurry terrain at the distaance and autogen popping.

Tried;

Different autogen settings, different LOD distance settings, HT on off, frame rate limiter and affinity mask settings.

Both FSX and P3D have the same symptoms.

I realized that my CPU usage was absurd. Usually core 0 at 100 percent and the rest are chilling at 10-20. I tried disabling core 0 with affinity mask but another core became 100 percent used. The rest are still at very low percents. So this might be the cause of my problem but i don't know how to fix it.

Windows version: Latest updated

Nvidia driver: 388.43

PC SPECS:

i7 4790k

GTX 980

500 GB SSD

1 TB HDD

16 GB DDR3 RAM

Thanks,

Arda

I seemed to be getting more blurries with 388.43. Try your previous NV driver again.

simbol, neither NI or Game mode is causing the problem. gboz, what is the previous NV driver?

Thanks

I don't recall the exact drivers versions, perhaps you could go to Nvidia website and check if they have historical drivers to download?

But what if the "historical" drivers have problems too? I need a specific version.

You are having blurries with your setup , so you might need to try multiple drivers to see If one ( or more ) are helping to solve them.

It might even be that the graphics drivers have nothing to do with the blurries.

Did you try deleting the p3d.cfg file alteady ?

Yes, in fact i have reinstalled P3D completely multiple times. Still no solution.

Do you recommend any previous NV drivers?

BTW one of my cores are running 100% utilized while the others are around 20s. Is that related to NV driver too?

IDK if it's bug or what. Try this : Go to task manager, details, find p3d, right click on it then click on affinity and Ok button. On my previous build (4790k) I've had same thing. 100% load on first core. When I did trick above, load has spreaded on all cores.

It is a known bug in Windows that If you click ok without having changed anything the load seems to have spread across all cores while it remains the same as before.

You just confuse the task manager ...

Better is to use a static Afinity Mask value in the p3d.cfg .

BtW : you could do a benchmarktest that checks all hardware..
