ATC Echo

Recommended Posts

Hi-I've run P3Dv4.0 for several months without incident.  I use the stock ATC with Edit Voice Pack and Ultimate Traffic Live.  In the last several days an "echo" has developed in ATC for both VFR and IFR flights.  Every phrase of ATC control, my pilot voice and those of the AI planes, is repeated--both in voice and in print in the ATC window.  It sounds like an echo.

I've not yet installed the 4.1 client.  Any ideas for a fix would be really appreciated before updating.

Thanks,

Jay

Have you checked if you have a open mic? Remove your microphones and check if the problem persists.

Hi--I deactivated any microphones found in the Sound section of Hardware in Windows 7.  Still have the echo.  Updated to P3Dv4.1 client.  Still the echo.  Uninstalled and reinstalled Edit VoicePak.  Still the echo.

If I go to the default flight and open ATC without a flight plan, there's no echo.  It's when I've activated a flight plan that the problems start.

Really confounding !

I had this also with the stock ATC. I deleted the cfg and it was cured.

@vp49p3 Jay, can you try this to see if the problem gets fixed?

At the risk of sounding like a complete and total word not allowed... In my Prepar3D v4 folders I have 5,344 ".cfg" files. Could someone narrow-down the exact location that contains the specific '.cfg' that you people are saying that you deleted to cure the ATC echo issue? Thanks!

Don't know why you'd have 5344 config files....but do you have both COM1 and COM2 tuned to the same frequency and monitored?  If you do, you'll hear the echo.
