Hey all, first post here, so forgive me if its in the wrong area,

So today, I was planning to fly to St. Lucia via KJFK on the Aerosoft A320. I was excited to depart with active snowfall, but upon entering the sim, I saw heavy rains instead of snow. Does anyone know a solution to the fix/what the issue is. Any help is appreciated

Hi,

AS2016 will depict what the METAR is showing, in this example from this morning there isn't any precipitation reported at KJFK

KJFK 110951Z 25021G28KT 10SM OVC041 01/M03 A3002 RMK AO2 PK WND 25028/0945 SLP166 T00111033

Look for the following to expect snow conditions:

SN  (Snow), SHSN  (light snow showers) or -SN  (light snow) etc.

In this metar from Cleveland there is light snow reported:

KCLE 110951Z 28005KT 9SM -SN OVC027 M01/M07 A3003 RMK AO2 SLP178 P0000 T10111067 $

I suspect that the metar was updated to rain (RN) by the time you started ActiveSky and the sim.

**EDIT**

Now, a new METAR has been published and indeed there is snow and it appears in the sim as well.  You can check this later by switching to historical weather in WX Control and check "Force historical time to sim time" and set the sim time to 06:05 EST and you will see snow showers.
