Will I be okay upgrading to a Gtx 1080 ti

Hi guys, at the moment my current specs are

Intel i7 4790 cpu 3.6ghz

8gb of Ddr 3 ram

Gtx 980

Corsair 600w psu

I want to upgrade to a 1080 ti but want to know if my setup will safely run a 1080ti I know nvidia recommend minimum of 600w so should I be okay?

I haven't heard of anyone lately having issues with the power supply but it was an issue a few years ago.  Unexplained crashes could indicate the power supply is not sufficient to run a flight simulator.  I had those types of crashes back when FSX was first released.  The power supplies are much better today and more efficient.  I would not be concerned.  However, should you get an unexplained crash, this will probably be the reason for it.  It won't harm your computer.  Your system will suddenly shutdown and turn off.  If this happens, you can go and find a more powerful PSU.

There are some very accurate PSU calculators floating around. Since you already know exactly what your system components are, you should be able to determine if your setup will tolerate the HPU upgrade with a high degree of confidence.

Are you sure you want to spend that kind of money on a "one generation" upgrade?

Just overclock that 980.
And I was always told to get a bigger PSU than recommended.
Remember that is better to let the PSU use 60-70% of power and stay cool than pump at 95% and put serious stress on it.
I always get 250w more than recommended. Temps are very nice.

If you plan on going 4k....get the 1080ti. 

I went from a 970 to a 1080ti and the results were fantastic!
