Jo Erlend Sund's EDDK preview - WOW!

Recommended Posts

Wow. The level of detail he achieved is mind-blogging.
A must buy to complement/enhance ORBX Germany.

If You want to see how meticulously he works see Here😲 and that was back in 2017.

This is a masterpiece. He has raised the bar on airport design to an entirely new level. Bought it. Installed it. Put all the settings on as much max as they would go. You will not experience the smoothness with the detail in any other airport.  I put my plane on Gate D22 PMDG 737-900. It's been an hour and I haven't left.  Made numerous cameras for various places including a seat at the bar.lol. Bravo! This is a MUST purchase.

This is a very impressive bit of scenery; it's one which I felt you pretty much have to buy even if you don't particularly want scenery for this airport, just to reward the fact that someone has gone to these lengths to make the thing lol.

For smoothness pay attention to the amount of apron objects.  Too much may introducé lower fps and stuttering.

And while the airport handles a large LOD radius very well other addons may introduce stuttering so keep your LOD radius as it is now.

I have a little problem with the seasons. The seasons of the ground textures and ORBX global LC do not match when I use system time. No big problem if I choose the seasons during setting up my flight, perfect matching and perfect blending.

This is my first P3D v4 scenery. I was not sure if my hardware could handle it. I come from XP11 to P3D because of FPS problems. A nice surprise, to see my notebook handle a large add on airport so nice.

There's a bit of an edge where Orbx FTX Global Open LC Europe meets this airport's surrounding photorealistic terrain, note that I use Flight 1's UT for the roads and stuff rather than Orbx, so that's part of the mix too on these pics. Yup the join is visible, but I had to fly right over it to make it really obvious enough to spot. Check the second pic with the change between the two sceneries being more distant, it's not bad on the whole, yeah you can spot where the change takes place, but I've put up with a lot worse than this:

Just commenced constructing an Air Hauler base of operations at this airport - seems a shame not to have one located at such a nice scenery lol, and it is quite frankly amazing how well it performs, even with everything option-wise on full throttle, loads of AI traffic, GSX doing the business etc, etc.

SHcyKeP.png

For anyone considering this, it's $410,000 to build the base and $70,000 a month to keep it running, more of course if you upgrade the facilities, but geographically speaking, it's not a bad spot for a hub in mainland Europe, so a few cargo jobs in and out of there should have it making a profit, which is doubtless why there's a big Fed Ex base there for real, so you could realistically fly that new Sky Sim's MD-11 into this place, since it does have a nice Fed Ex livery and can be found for a much more palatable 27 quid if you look around a bit and are missing having one of those in P3D V4.

For those who are using the early access version of Just Flight's Traffic Global incidentally, it currently puts mostly Eurowings Airbuses and Ryanair 737s on the stands, plus a few other types from TUI etc, in the above pic, that's my Aerosoft A321, with a Traffic Global AI Eurowings 'Bus alongside it. Somebody needs a slap for not putting that cone properly in front of the port engine with passengers disembarking lol.

This is a great airport. But I found two issues. Turn rain weather on and go in the terminal. It rains in the terminal.lol.  Same with snow. Also, when you put snow on it doesn't do anything to the tarmac like the rain does. These should be obvious fixes.

Amazing detail. Just a shame its not a U.S airport

Why? You can fly to and from it as I do with some beautiful US airports while sitting in Europe. That's what make flight simulation great imo... it allows it all.

Why on earth would you want to go in the terminal when you are in the aircraft ?

You Slew your aircraft inside the terminal ?

Outstanding scenery!

But the tire marks on the runways (at least RWY 14L / 32R looks a tad sloppy. Just some straight black lines. Minor thing I know but compare to Flightbeam KMSP and it looks rather weak.

Already Jo has written that he will look into that.

He is a lot on the AS Scenery forum.
