Simconnect Vars

I bought the C208B EX for some VA flying and it appears that, unlike the C208 HD that it does not recognize the FSUIPC Simconnect Vars for the G1000.

By way of explanation.  I have been using HID Macros and a USB keypad to control G1000 functions on the C208B HD, as well as both G1000 and GPS functions on some of my other aircraft.

However, that doesn't appear to work with the C208B and so far I've only been able to use click spots.   

Does anyone have the C208B working with FSUPIC Simconnect Vars?  If so, how..
