New PC / New P3D v4.1 Instalattion and.... again CTD

Recommended Posts

Good afternoon,,
I'm totally frustrated with my last experiences with P3d. I had P3D v3 before and randomly I had CTD with no information on APPCrashView nor Event log ( I have followed all instruction pointed out on AVSIM CTD Guide) .
When P3d v4 was lauched I bought it and hoped issues like this one would finish if I used only P3D v4 addons and nothing else. Furthermore, to use exclusively for P3D v4 I bought a new PC.

This are the specs:

Intel Core i7-7800X 3.5Ghz (not overcklocked )
RAM 16GB
Zotac GeForce GTX 1060 AMP 6GB GDDR5
SSDNow UV400 480GB + 1TB SATA
OS: Windows10 Home edition x64 bits

Addons I've got:
PMDG 777 & 737NG
ORBX Global
ORBX Vector
ORBX Europe LC
Flightbeam KSFO
Aerosoft lite Bengalore VOBL
ActiveSKY16
ASCA

First flight I did on this new PC...CTD ( Bengalore - Madrid )
Today, I decided to do LEMD - KSFO with PMDG 777, and around 7 hours inflight.....CTD

This is what I get in AppCrashView & and Log Events ( one refer to StackHash_f04d error and the other one ntdll error )

Could you please give me a hand in order to sort out this issues or at least understand it.

When I install a brand new sim, I just install one or two add ons, fly it, and see what happens. Then add a few more, and repeat. You load everything at once, then you need a crystal ball to figure out what is causing the problem.

You received a StackHash.  Your settings are too high.  If you follow the investigative procedures in the AVSIM CTD Guide starting at page 9 on how to fix most crashes/freezes in P3DV4.1, it will tell you to rename your p3d.cfg to p3d.cfg.old, restart P3D and do not touch any of the settings and see if you can replicate the crash with default settings.  If you can't then it is a problem with your settings.

Prepar3D works perfectly in default mode.  Then you start adding addons and raising your settings and things usually go south from there on unless you are careful with the settings and the scenery and aircraft addons are P3Dv4.1 compatible.

Best regards,

Jim

Nuno,

Good to know I noticed your sim is in Spanish, if you need further support in Spanish let me know as it is a language I speak very well.

I would also exclude the PD3V4 folder from your AVG antivirus scans.

Nuno,

Good to know I noticed your sim is in Spanish, if you need further support in Spanish let me know as it is a language I speak very well.

I would also exclude the PD3V4 folder from your AVG antivirus scans.

That is nice that you will assist him in Spanish as that makes communication much easier for sure.  However, not in these forums.  This is an English speaking website.  We do have International Language Forums where you can tell someone to go to and assist them there - https://www.avsim.com/forums/forum/272-foro-de-vuelo-virtual-en-español/ .

Best regards,

Jim

My suggestion, uninstall all your add ons except a few, fly a few times, then gradually add them one or tow at a time until you find your problem.

It looks like the CTD came back when you turned AI aircraft on.  Try turning it off, and see if the CTD goes away again.  I know you didn't list it, but are you using a AI Traffic program like Mytraffic 6?

I knew it.  There's a non native model in your sim somewhere. One day Jim or baron might make a sticky on it.  Last year there must have been 50+ topics regarding it.

I'll keep a running total this year. See if we can't make 20 topics by June.

I had a similar experience with P3D4 in a brand new PC:  i7 Coffee Lake 3.7GHz, GTX 1070 Ti 16GB, etc - W10x64 with ORBX addons.

I spent a week trying to make P3D4 work using advice from kind people on umpteen forums. Yesterday I admitted defeat and requested a refund from LM.

Today, I flew FSX for the first time in months (on another PC, slower in theory). I was amazed how good it was and how smoothly it flew even with a basket load of ORBX addons.
