Hey Ryan,

It's an Andriod (but I think the iPad would work too).

I grabbed an app called SpaceDesk which you put the client app on your PC (its a driver basically) and download the app to your tablet.  They sync up via your home network and your computer now treats the tablet as just another monitor (abit a tiny one when paired up with my 55 inch 4k TV I use as a monitor).  Just like having multiple monitors, you identify the newly discovered monitor (your tablet) and drag the icon of it to where you want to extend you main monitor.  I have mine in my lap so the setup screen looks like this:

Here it is propped up in front of my monitor in the background...not a great pic but you get the idea...just about life size too...very cool.

Oh and another cool thing, as you see in the background...even in spot view you can use it.   And like I mentioned...pressing the keys with your finger...priceless.

You just undock the the 750 and drag her to your tablet....couldn't be easier.

@Steve Dra

I tried setting this up but P3D gives me an error about unsupported driver when I try to start P3D GRRR!  Have you seen any errors before?  The screen is working on my tablet.  It's an el cheapo 150 dollar one though... maybe P3D doesn't like it.

I've just tried this using my Lenovo Yoga Tab plus android tablet and it worked great with P3D V4. I am running an ultra widescreen monitor off a GTX980. I was amazed how easy it was to do this. A big thanks to Steve for his advice on this.

Can this be done on the iPad if anyone knows? Would love to have the GTNs and PMDG FMS on my iPad for use while flying.

Duet app works well with ipad, but uses a USB cable. Just drag the GTN/FMC to it like a 2nd monitor. Costs $9.99.

At this time SpaceDesk does not appear to support an iPad.  Duet uses a lightning to USB cable.  I have an old iPad without a lightning connection.  So, I'll look for another wifi software that suports an iPad.

Tom, Duet site says  ipad  ios 7.0 or higher.  Shouldn't matter if it's lightning or 30 pin connector, just so your host PC detects the ipad.

I am considering getting either the Flight1 or the Reality XP for my recent purchase of the FSW falcon 50 and to be decided Carenado purchase...probably the Phenom 300, as this will give me a small size / short range and a medium size/long range biz jet.. It seems the GTN750 is needed in both birds to make the navigation process easier..

Now...Flight1 package includes the GTN750 AND the 650 for $64.95.

The Reality XP package(on sale until 15th Dec)  includes the GTN 750 only for $35.00 and if you want the 650, it will cost an additional $35.00

Do I need to 650? What a/c does this fit in?

It seems the F1 package is more easily fitted as manufacturers see this as the go-to package and incorporate the ability to easily install. Though, apparently, the XP package also provides their own tools.

When I see a tutorial for the GTN750, will it apply to either the Flight1 and or the Reality XP?

Anyway, any advice would be appreciated.

The actual gauges (F1 and RXP) operate pretty much the same, so from a usability point of view there is little difference.

Given the current sale, the RXP unit looks like a good deal.. unless you want the 650 as well, obviously.

Some aircraft panels (F33 Bonanza, B58 Baron..) do not have space for the GTN 750, so that is where the 650 comes in.  From a pilot's point of view, the 750 is a way nicer unit. (IMHO)

Either way, you'll be happy once you have them installed.

They both work well, but for my money RXP is the way to go. It uses a newer version of the Garmin trainer, has advanced features not found on the F1, and uses a much newer set of databases.

The 650 display is only half the size of the 750. If you had a limited space panel, the 650 might be needed, but I prefer the 750 for all my add-ons.

RXP has superb customer support, with their forum hosted right here at AVSIM.

Hi Bert and Jim, thanks for the great replies. OK, the 650 is for the 'light' aircraft with small dash footprint. Assuming I fly the larger a/c, then the 750 is the version I need. Agree Jim, the RXP has the latest version of database.

OK,, RXP Purchased...Let the journey begin. The Garmin tutorials look great.

Sorry for jumping in like this, but I am looking at buying the Carenado 340 and noticed they have provded an easy integration of the F1 GTN750. Somewhere in the back off my head I remember reading that RXP provides a way of having their GTN760 on an iPad but I never quite understood how it worked. So, my question is how easy is it to get the RXP GTN750 into the VC of the Carenado 340 and does the iPad solution actually exist or am I dreaming?!
