RXP GNS2-430 no power

Recommended Posts

I have just purchased the GNS2-430 to try out in my FS2004 installation (I have all the old legacy RXP gauges). The installation proceeded without incident, and I did a test install via the Configuration utility for a pop-up window of the GNS430 in the default Cessna.

The unit appears but it has no power - the main screen is black. The power button does not appear to work.

I then exited FS9 and found the Garmin trainer (C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\GNS Trainer\GNS) and launched the G530SIM.EXE file. Again, the software works, but the trainer unit is not powering on. I hope someone can help or this will be a disappointing Christmas gift to myself!

Hi Graeme,

The GNS Trainer won't run standalone, this is expected and explained in other discussions in this forum.

Like explained in the 'Troubleshooting' chapter of the User's Manual, can you please post the content of the 'rxp' log files?

Thanks for the reply. I tried the flight sim a few hours later, and the gauge is now working! I think my antivirus program (NOD32) had 'quarentined' some files during installation, which I discovered and re-instated. Perhaps that was causing the problem?

Yes most likely, this is the reason.

This is peculiar and will be reviewed: either this is trying to copy the destination file to the source file (wrong), or it is just the 'print' statement to the log file which is swapping the two paths.
