Real Boeing 737NG Simulator Video's to view

Featured Replies

The below http site has about 8 video clips of various takeoff's, landings, touch & go's, Engine outs etc. that I was able to put together for your own personal viewing. The real simulator was a Boeing 737NG-700 series and I flew most of the 4 hours manually back in December. I posted the video's to the Google site since they are free and easy to download...http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6300611547275378344Hope you enjoy them.Regards, jack

Great video of the MD-11 in action and at my favorite airport to shoot manual approaches....Thanks.Regards,Calico Jack

I really enjoyed these videos you posted Jack! I assume you were doing some recurrent training for work as an airline pilot, or was this more "for fun" ?I'd love to take a ride in a full motion sim one of these days - the flight school I go to for training in NJ has a new Frasca simulator with a wraparound screen good for training on single and multiengine planes, but it doesn't have a motion platform.

This was strictly for the fun of it. I've owned PS1.3a since 1998 and have had most of the PMDG products by which I learned the procedures to fly the 737NG and then got hooked up with a buddy who I know at Boeing who directed me to a full motion level D simulator and since then, I've had several hours in it. I have said many times before on another forum that the software in this industry is way, way ahead of the hardware and if somebody with a little talent could manufacture hardware that was anything close to the real thing, then I would gladly pay for it. I've had the PFC Cirrus Yoke and for the money, it wasn't worth it. I don't know about the Pedestal Yoke but, I can tell you that the 'Cirrus' was way too expensive and had a very cheap 'Cessna-like' throttle and way too much play in the yoke at the so called 'center medium'....In other words, in the real sim, there is 'zero play' in the yoke when the hydraulics are actuated. That means, NO (+ or -) a half inch of play in the yoke. As a result, I returned the yoke for a full refund and I'm still looking for the right one. Maybe the PFC Jetliner Yoke would be the answer if anybody knows anything about it, let me know.I just don't like any play in the yoke...If you move it in the real sim, it takes a little effort and you have to exert a little muscle to do it. In other words, you don't fly it with your little finger....The springs in the CH yoke need to be doubled in strength and then some to equate to the real thing.Just my two cents, but from the hours I've spent, I hope that some Entrepreneur is listening out there...Regards,jack
