Widgeon CTD in FSX:SE

I found the reason why Windows 10 is causing the crash. And maybe other OP systems besides W7. We tested on W7 with no issues, I tested today with W10 and it also crashed. I found in the panel config file last entry [Vcockpit21] is a duplicate of entry 12. So just delete the last entry. I will add instruction on the product page until we release a new version.

So this proves newer operating systems are getting worse if they can't ignore a duplicate entry since W7 could. You would think it would be the other way around.😥

 

Fixed indeed! Setting up my default views in Aerosoft Daytona then its off to OrbX PNW 😄

So glad I finally got a water bird for the sim. Putting floats on the Lear was not happening for me (although it handles long grass strips pretty well!)

David that's interesting to know! I was in your Home Depot yesterday buying a yard chemical sprayer. Glamorous info eh? I notice the FSW videos are based at Spruce Creek. Is that where you guys are based? I'm in South Daytona that's only 3 or 4 miles from here! Regularly cycle using backroads to NSB and back making sure the route takes me past KEVB. It CAN be a small world sometimes 😄

This problem occures not only in Win 10.

 

I bought the G-44 Widgeon two weeks ago and had exactly the same problem with

Win 8.1 & FSX

Unfortunately i completely missed the text-information in the lower right corner of the Flysimware-Product-Page. :-P
But yesterday i found this thread - and now the problem is solved.

I am reviving this old thread because I just experienced the same problem with my new G-44 purchase and wanted people to know that the problem still exists.

I purchased my copy of G-44 through the PC Aviator website two nights ago and was exited to install my new payware G-44. When I tried to load it in FSX-SE, I immediately experienced a CTD. After much cursing and hair pulling, I eventually came across this thread.

I located my panel.cfg file and confirmed that the duplicate entry in the VC section still exists. I believe my download is V1.1

Should Flysimware not have made correction by this time, or is the PC Aviator website still hosting an older version?

Current version of the G-44 is 1.2 which works fine for me.  I don't know why PC Aviator apparently is selling an older version of the G-44. I'll let Mark at FSW know.

Did deleting your duplicate entry in the panel.cfg file as outlined above solve your problem?
