If you look at this   http://www.glowingheat.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=160    link it says:

I'd like to know this as well.  Until this thread I didnt even know this product existed, but if it is fully v4 compatible I'd buy it and the VRS F18.

Yep. Really. Air to air combat is a rarity with modern warfare. At least TacPack provides vessels and ground installations that fire at your aircraft. That's something. And then there's multiplayer.

+1 Big emphasis on A2A in hobby, but in real world,  especially USNavy, it is all about CAS.

The thing I like about the Superbug in P3D is that I can simulate what fighter pilots actually spend most of their life doing, ie training and maybe some other activities at their home base rather than deployed.  Maybe I’m a bit weird in that.  For example most of my flying since buying this has been out of CFB Cold Lake (where Canadian Hornets are based and eventually Super Hornets as well).  I’ve done a ferry flight to CFB Comox, done some low altitude flying and bombing range runs north of Cold Lake, next I’ll probably return to Comox to do some simulated shipping/drug interdiction patrols on unsuspecting AI ships.

If anyone has any insight into what else fighter pilots spend their days doing when not deployed I’d love to hear it.

When I want to do full out warfare, I head over to DCS (and try to remember everything I’ve forgotten since i last played it).  But I quite like having an aircraft like this in P3D.

Using contrails to draw things in the sky (usually getting nasty reactions from concerned parents).

Lol yes I do remember that, good idea.  Too bad the contrails in p3d don’t last that long.

I run the VRS Superbug along with the TacPack in P3dv4.  I can not find anything that's not working!

Today I downloaded the Javier aircraft carrier add on, which includes the Nimitz and A.I. fleet ships (freeware!). After another jaw dropping afternoon spent "practising" carrier landings, I can only say what an enhancement this is to flight simulation in P3d.

I can't remember actually feeling "stressed" flying around in a flight simulator before, but carrier landings, in this beauty of a simulation, is not recommended if you already suffer from high blood pressure!

Best regards.

Cheers :) I actually meant the Enterprise - The F18 I am assured is top-notch, I'd just like a fully v4 compatible carrier to be able to fly it off and it appears the Enterprise isn't :(

This is my concern in that the whole thing is a dead end, and hence why I have not upgraded from fsx version the p3dv4 version if this bird.

Ive registered on the devs forum that created the Enterprise and asked if its fixed yet.  No answer at present but it is NYE!!  Their carrier seems to have an immense amount of detail, I cant imagine it wouldnt be worth the while to redo a couple of gauges to 64bit in order to give it full functionality in P3D4?

See http://fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/ai-aircraft-carrier-landings.441788/

Dev work on carrier ops isnt dead....

Happy New Year!

Sorry Kevin, thought you were referencing the Super Hornet!

I downloaded the Javier Nimitz and AI Carriers today. Considering it's freeware it's fit for purpose. Permits great carrier landings practise, tells you which wire you trapped and then gives you a cat launch that you can customise to your weight to launch speed. Throw in an elevator to the hangar deck for a bit of extra eye candy and I think it's amazing for a free ware sim.

You can add the Ike and a destroyer escort for good measure too!

Happy New year.

I spoke too soon. No go on the LSO voice and other features. I can't even tune the ship's CVN65 nav frequency. Other carriers navaids work thou. The launch officer is animated. Launching and trapping is about the only good thing about the CVN65 right now.
Well at least the Superbug includes more carriers.

You all have a Happy New Year!

javier's carrier is fully functional in p3dv4.   and for those interested, the newest version of vLSO for p3dv4 is available--works great.  http://vlso.blogspot.com/

whole thing is a dead end?  huh?

Still one of the greats.

Works very well in P3DV4.

Got any screen shots?
