I am on the market for freeware driver updater software that can scan my system devices for out of date drivers and update as necessary. What are the best options? Thanks.

Most of these are available contain much "Bloatware". Be careful.

And aren't that "smart" at updating drivers either... you'll get what they want you to have.  Better to make your own choice of driver updates and save your system from the "Bloatware" and grief.

If you do opt to get a "driver updater" (like the others here, I would avoid them), then go for something which just advises you of what's out of date and allows you to update manually. At least that way, if you have a problem it's easier to troubleshoot - you should update and test only one driver at a time.

I use Driver Booster as recommended in the Avsim guide - got the Pro lifetime version from steam $23.99 - it works fine and any suggestions of other software is only very mild occasional whisper.

I tried one of those free updaters once, never again.  Between the bloatware and the updates to drivers that destabilized that computer... well, live and learn.
