CaptainSim 757 Released!

Just went through the CS Store (removed) and it seems that this Base pack and expansion is SOP for CS. So, $75, and at least $19.99 for each base pack. That would put the whole range at $155.

In comparison, the QW 757 for v4 is announced for $15. So is it worth paying as much for the CS version ?

LOL - 10x times the difference... That said, the QualityWings won't come out this century - and the system depth is quite low IMO...

$75 after all their fails and without showing any signs of being trustworthy is kinda of pushing it WAY over the limit. Sorry, i'll skip it until some sort of promo comes up.

The problem is that CS is not high end developer so it will be hard for them to push their new plane with such price tag.

The good news is that maybe finally CS came to conclusion that high end market is bigger and more profitable.

I wish that CS will change and join FSL,PMDG,A2A club.

Has FSL (I presume you mean FSLabs?) had a payed beta? I don't recall that - but then again, my memory isn't what it has been...

Yearh - it's a good question. It's a sad tendency!

To be honest, given Captain Sim's reputation and quality I'm highly reluctant to pay out $75 for that plane - even if it's complete. If it's PMDG level quality and system depth, I probably would - but I seriously doubt that...

Didn't they (fsl)  call it early adopter or backer or some other buzz word for pay to beta. I'm sure they did

I will wait I put my money into the TheMadDog and FSL A319. CS have a bad rep, I owned a few of there's and it's going to take a lot of good feedback for me to risk $75.7 and what's with the 70 cents?

It looks like they chose the price based on the aircraft, $75.7 = 757

For some, having an open beta works well, because you can identify bugs alot faster across a wider range of systems and setups. Chaseplane for example.  Fully transparent that it is beta and Kevin works really well with the community in getting bugs fixed.  If its done like this, its a great way to squash bugs.

For others its just a cash infusion hard to pass up and for everyone of you that complains about it, there will be 100 lining up to buy. Just look at the CS FB page and their forum. All kinds of people answered they would be willing to pay for the beta.

If CS has turned a new leaf, this is their opportunity and it will be a great seller. If they mess this up, it will be crash and burn. Lets hope for the former.

That's a valid point

I'm pretty cheap

But is the price really thaat bad?

youll pay almost fifty bucks for a Carenado bizjet. (Ex E55P with navigraph)

and pmdg's 777 for P3D costs 165 bucks (with the -300)

If it's got most systems that simmers are going to use with FMS and navigraph I think it's fair. They tell you it's a beta right there.  Most airliners for P3D aren't cheap.  And yeah in the past CS was eye candy only but every reply so far is speculation- maybe CS has really upped their game?

Someone be the guinea pig LOL

I buy Carenado when it's on sale! Some websites give you a greater discount.

Well I'm airborne in the 757 on my way to KMSP. I have already encountered a few bugs which I posted on there site. Without a master listing on what is working I have know way of knowing. Besides separate tiller control, wind noise and CTD while using the mini Shift+2 panel its not doing to bad. At least I got it in the air and it's for sure a beta. You defiantly have to know what your doing to get it going.

Here we go again. Pay to beta again.  These [REMOVED]  where the first to start this malarkey 10 years ago or so.  Then BBS, then fsl, then ut2 live.

In other news now on Chris bells site you can't turn off the option of paying for support.

How did we get to this.  Now it's the new norm

When did FSL do a paid beta?
