REX Sky Force Very First look

It's frustrating, Howard, because their products are capable; they just don't correlate with their overzealous, or exaggerated claims.  I hope they take that under advisement going forward...

It certainly is frustrating Matt. I've just watched a 'live' video from Mike Collins on YT, IMO it's a complete dog's dinner. The clouds look abysmal. I really feel for the devs, as this must be awful for them, but as you quite rightly say, opinions, even the harshest, must be vented.

The salient question for me among others i suppose is..

As a current user of AS16 with soft clouds and Rex Texture Direct, what does this offer me?

LOL...we were watching the same stream, Howard.  Mike did an excellent job!  I appreciated him switching back and forth between the weather engines and 'cloud simulators.'  SF3D inability to depict the current weather was really disappointing, as were the abrupt weather shifts, which in 2018 should be LONG in the past.  I did like SF3D cloud depiction; yet,I don't see it as vastly superior to competing products...cloud depiction is also VERY subjective.  Nevertheless, Mike did a great job and allowed us to accurately compare products...he was also very impartial; again, he did a great job.

I don't understand what everyone is complaining about. I have all the Sims, weather add-ons including As16, and constantly looking for the best visuals with Smooth performance.

Yesterday when I loaded sf3d and used their settings with pta, and their first default set of textures I was amazed. The clouds and haze look better than any other sim I can think of. The sky looked beautiful and colors from pta preset spot on. My p3d sim has never run so solid and smooth!

I had a chilling realism last night and I think everyone is unfairly judging or may not have set it up correctly because I see a big big difference.

Dave, what are you referring to when you say 'you could see?'

Sir, I don't believe there are too many comments suggesting SF3D doesn't look good; although that's a very subjective subject.  What looks good to you, may look cartoonish to others.  I actually think it looks great too; however, the weather engine, and many other features, are terrible and fail to live up the REX's claims; that's why I think many are critiquing the product.  In short, I believe a solid amount of simmers don't see the revolutionary changes 'promised.'  I'm glad you're enjoying your new software tho...perhaps I'll come around too!
