REX Skyforce feature question answered

Recommended Posts

There was a long thread in which many were asking if Skyforce dynamically injects clouds into the simulator using another weather engine like Active Sky.  Moreover, some were wondering if it only injects *structures* or also *textures* as well.

The answer is right on the REX product page screenshot of the Skyforce UI - next to the Real Time Sync Mode On/Off button is the note:

"Enable to allow the REX Skyforce weather engine to sync 3D cloud model structures **and textures** based upon specific weather conditions in real-time as you fly within the simulator"

Wait a second - maybe the question is not completely answered.  The note only refers to the **Skyforce** weather engine.  Will it do this using other weather engines as well?

Developers, would you please answer this question once and for all?

Thanks.

Dave

Another few questions which haven’t been answered: how does SkyForce know which textures to sync? Is it random or not? If it works with AS, does it somehow read AS files or does it read the actual weather in the sim? If so, how?

You need to discuss those issues in the SkyForce forum.  The developer's visit AVSIM occasionally but they are not always here to answer your questions leading others to post wrong or misleading information.
