Ok, yeah, well, I had it coming... Now let's get back to Sky Force, please...:laugh:

As I said my skies look a LOT more full with SF. I just finished a flight and I can't remember having seen so little of FTX Norway in a long time: I was flying in and out of clouds all the time. Things seem a lot thicker (if that's the correct word) and varied. The AS information window said there were clouds at 3500 and 5000 feet or so but I was in the middle of them while flying at 20.000 ft...! I can't remember cruising in clouds! Made me wonder if there weren't too many clouds out there. So I just went to the airport closest to my home and compared what I saw out of my window to what I saw P3D with AS and SF and it looked pretty good. A lot better, I have to admit, then with my one bmp... (which I compared to real life yesterday). The overcast was complete, as it should be, no blue in sight, and also the kind of clouds were similar. So far, so good. I do have to get used to some cloud shapes though... some look great, some don't, and the combination sometimes make it look like a mixed bag, but well, I suppose that's the same in real life too... The colors are also really different. All in all it may take some time to get used to it but I have to say SF sure does make my skies look a lot more interesting.

I think this might be a bigger reason for Reed to crack open the champagne than the release itself.

With so many clouds you will see some you don't like even with my old beloved REX soft clouds it was the case. It's a big change for you and as you can see, a big difference.

You can always have a look through the sets and try a set you would like to try. Even with a set of your choosing your getting 8 different ones.

It might well be that you have generated a significant spike in sales of SF since that post.

Well, this I am still not sure about. First of all the sync options should install cloud textures automatically so why would you need to install another set? I haven’t installed any set manually but I am seeing REX clouds so how did that happen? Another question is if a set really contains 8 textures. Yes, there are 8 pictures so it may be logical to presume there are 8 textures in it but I can’t find any information about how many textures a set contains. All in all I still don’t know how this works (and I have the idea no one does up to now).

Yes, I may have bought it and I may like parts of what I see but that doesn’t mean I will stop asking questions.

Probably only REX knows J, how does AS do what it does?  I just surgested you might want to try a set that you personally like the look of. Personally I don't care how it works as long as it works.

BTW are you getting the .net error?

J van E,

I'm glad you came to your senses.

Sometimes you're slow, but eventually even the turtle gets to its destination.

MSFS 2020, what an amazing sim!

As long as it works, yes, but again, DOES it work? Anyway, I asked about this on the REX forum just now. Stay tuned.

And yes, I am getting those errors too. Looking forward to the upcoming hot fix!

Oops... sorry, guys, I think I may have gone to far today indeed... I was simply happy with the sky I saw in this flight but okay, I understand your points of view: I probably typed a bit too much this time. My bad. My sincere apologies.

You know what? To show you all I am really sorry (AND to see if you are really right  AND to fullfill MindYerBeak's prophecy  AND to make sure my next post about SkyForce will be a valid one ) I will purchase REX SkyForce 3D right away.

I don't think you should buy Skyforce just to appease some bullies and critics.  You don't need to be sorry for expressing your opinion.

I have always believed that REX puts out a lot of hype.  Their textures are indeed very nice, but it looks to me like mostly the same old stuff just repackaged, re-branded, and re-promoted.  Their weather engines have never been as good as HiFiSim's - ***in my opinion***.

I just bought Active Sky Cloud Art to go with the Active Sky weather engine which I've been using for years, and so far I'm very happy with the results.

There is nothing wrong with comparing, contrasting, criticizing, or promoting flightsim products as long as you keep your comments civil and truthful.

For me this is part of the problem.  We should all understand how it works - and God knows, that question has only been asked about a bazillion times already with no clear explaination

Agreed. But the replies made me aware I was missing something with my one texture. And I was also already interested in SF otherwise I wouldn’t have posted anything about it. But I also concluded I wasn’t really being civil and even though I said otherwise repeatedly it IS actually a bit difficult to be thruthful about a product if you didn’t give it a try yourself. Again, I do agree with what you say but (also about REX and the hype and the weather engine) but everything together made me decide to buy SF anyway. It wasn’t just because of the ‘bullies and critics’.

Which is why I just asked about it on the REX forum. Hopefully the devs themselves will reply because only their answers are of real use in this case,
