No predicted legs in FMC any newbie help please

Recommended Posts

Dear flight friends,

Started using the ngx a few weeks back and I am trying the tutorial 1 flight.

The problem is however that after putting in al the settings and variables there are no values in the predicted legs section. No altitudes only dashed lines....

I have been searching for this problem and tried several  things.

-Updated airac cycle and tried a few different ones.

- set p3d time to match the airac cycle

- reloaded the ngx

- restarted p3d v4.1

- started tutorial 1 from the beginning again but same problem.

I did press activate and execute button in the FMC several times.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Are you sure you have completed the complete preflight setup?

  • FD-switch (both) on
  • enter complete route
  • enter departure Rwy and SID (if applicable)
  • armed LNAV/VNAV or other roll/pitch mode

Just a few items that come to mind while performing a preflight myself ...

Hi,

Are the IRS alignment complete?

If you have not already, you may want to try the second tutorial and see if you have success with that.

Thank you guys!

I'll give it a try. I thought the IRS was alligned already if I load default flight in p3dv4 and then "edit" flight and choose the ngx and appropriate runway etc.

In which state should the 737 be when doing the tutorial 1? Cold and dark? Or other state?

Thank you!

Dashes behind the waypoints on the LEGS page indicate that anything is missing inside the FMS that it is not able to calculate its vertical path. If the STAR has shown altitudes then please check first if

- you have entered a cruise altitude on the PERF INIT page

- you have executed the PERF INIT page after inserts.

No need for reinstals, this is pilot error ;P if the aircraft loads and shows up correctly it‘s installed fine.

No idea right now but the IRS are aligned when you see the arificial horizon showing up on both PFD as an „indicator“

Ok thanks.

Should the aircraft be in "short haul" state for tutorial 1 to be successful? I don't find anything about it on the pmdg manual???

Tnx!!

I've never flown the tutorials but I think they are saved flights to load up and so they come with a saved panel state.

Full names on all posts here please, this is one of PMDG rules for participation.

Read the Tutorial carefully, follow every step.  The default configuration (not the short or long states) should be used as stated on pg 7.  This means you load it exactly as outlined on page 8.
