"I have yet to see one respond to my request for a file name of theirs to download. Not one."You need to read more closely. So, what are the rules then David? How many files and of what sort do myself and the thousands of others who have been using freeware without actually uploading stuff need to have uploaded in order to qualify to download and perhaps comment on your work? Am I allowed to continue raving about how good the Stearman is without having uploaded anything? Are you going to inform the folks over at Flightsim.com about this new requirement as well? Just need some clarification about this radical new policy...

And for any visitors to this thread, here are the links to the other threads so you can get the whole picture:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...g_id=2503&page=http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...ing_type=searchhttp://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=18781&page=2http://forums.flightsim.com/dc/dcboard.php...id=131664&page=http://forums.flightsim.com/dc/dcboard.php...ing_type=searchSo judge for yourself. If I left any out, please post them here.IMHO, you got instantly mad when ONE user posted about how they don't like installers (3rd link) - and this was a carryover from discussion on flightsim.com (5th link). That one user's post was the 3rd reply to a topic you started - the first two were positive. It then escalated from there. Further, the first two links are users reporting the virus, and you reply that it is clean and they shouldn't use freeware virus scanners - a poor choice of words at the least. Our library manager posted a reply in both of those threads, fwiw.It seems to me that this whole issue is about the fact that YOU don't like people who don't want to user YOUR autoinstaller. And when those people posted in the thread YOU started, you got upset and (with already a negative opinion of avsim.com users) escalated this topic.

When I first read about the request to remove the files I went back and re-read all of those threads to see what had brought it about. Theres just nothing there. The result of those threads is so far out of proportion to the actual "transgressions" there-in that it really defies logic. A couple of virus warning threads and a couple of people who don't like auto-installers. That's it. No accusations made about infected files being intentionally uploaded. No criticism of the add-on itself (everybody loved it for crying out loud). The virus threads were closed up within about 3 response posts. I'm at a loss...

To be honest I think it would be perhaps best for the whole community if all threads on this absolute nonesense flamewar just be completely removed off the forums and the topic locked off from discussion for a bit.

I am going to at least lock this thread up. Maybe Tom can restart his discussion about Freeware and the library and it won't get hijacked...I'll make sure of it.
