Just turn weather off in opus setup leave the cameras checked and the cams work fine with AS..There’s a good manual on this at the website.

Ok, thanks guys. I got around to actually buying and installing AS P3DV4 and with Opus weather disabled the VC is shaking quite nicely in flight with AS running.

My flow is as follows: Sky Force (WX engine disabled) minimize, start ASN and load the flightplan, start FSX and select my aircraft of choice then start Opus, enable the cameras and then go back into ASN and refresh the weather to force ASN to override anything Opus may have injected into the sim.

Not sure why you have to do that with every start of P3D/FSX ?  I disabled Opus weather one time, and that is it. It remains disabled till re enabled again.

Also, to get the benefit of AS weather using opus cam, you must put OpusAS.DLL into the DLL.XML

Seems to be working ok without doing this. I did put the OpusAS.DLL into the DLL.XML anyway but could not see any difference. ???

Thanks, gb.

That's what I thought until I noticed that whenever I started the OpusFSX server it cleared whatever weather AS had loaded into the sim and injected its own even though the Refresh weather on startup option is unchecked.

I don't recall ever tinkering with the Opus.dll files yet the cameras work perfectly fine for me.

Also looks like the OpusAS.DLL may not be working anyway in P3DV4 since it seems to be a 32bit file and P3D error log is asking for the 64bit version.

??

gb.

Edit: I am using OpusFSI v5

I am using OpusFSIV5 as well, and my OpusASdll is the 64 bit version for P3D 64. Make you are using the 64bit version. Opus cameras read the AS weather for better bump aircraft, the developer would not have created it if it did not work. If you have not set it up correctly, you may have noticed no difference, as it is not functioning.

Something wrong their, maybe check with Stephen at the Opus forum, it should be a once only un check of the box.

I'm using 5.20.1 version of OpusFSIv5 and there seems to be only one OpusAS.DLL file in the Opus root folder.
How do I know if it is 64 bit? The P3DV4 error log is definitely saying it is 32 bit.

Thanks,
gb.

Yes agree of course but the Opus AS setup instructions seem a bit out of date. Like they refer to as_btstrp.dll where the current P3DV4 AS dll seems to be as_connect_64.dll. So just makes me suspicious about OpusAS.DLL being 64 bit.

I will check. I remember downloading a 64 bit version that was on the forum. Will get back to you to confirm.

Gboz, my apologies, seems I am mistaken regarding ASDLL being 64bit. I was mixing it up with Opus PDKdll. I posted a thread late last year about it, and appears to have been deleted. The dev does not seem interested in a 64 bit version.

What I did find out, was, one user was able to use Opus DHM and ChasePlane together. Disable DHM in CP, and just use the camera views from CP, bt keeping the Vibration effects from Opus. Which is one of it's best features.

Anyway, will remove that asdll from my dll.xml. Shame, would have been nice to have Active Sky intergration.

No worries, thanks for looking into it.
Anyway AS and Opus VC shakes seem to be working enough for me at the moment even if I am not getting the complete package.

Cheers,
gb.
