Looking for 16GB DDR3!

Recommended Posts

Do you or anyone you know have 16GB ddr3 RAM? I'm looking to buy some used stuff if I can for cheaper than the astronomical 150+ new stuff goes for.

anyone have some they'd like to get rid of?

No, as long as they are DDR3 also, but if they have different frequencys, they are going to run on the lowest one.

BTW ive been looking for the same thing in my country, not easy to find ddr3 now, even used, at reasonable prices!

Thanks to @Chocorua I'm up and running with 16GB (4x4)!  A little slower than my 1866 but I don't think it really matters anymore for my slow old ancient dinosaur hehe

Did increasing your amount of ram make a noticeable difference Ryan? I am still on 2 x 4gb and don't seems to be having any problems with it.

Less noticeable for P3D v4 - but sometimes when im online and have lots of Chrome tabs up, and photoshop for screenshots it makes a difference.  In that scenario I ran today system was at 9 GB.

Much more importantly, XP11 uses the RAM.  I was at 11.5GB today and adding the ram cured 90% of my stutters (was paging hdd).  Still get some pauses because my vram on the GTX970 is saturated but oh well

Thanks Ryan. I use mostly P3dv3 & v4 and occasionally FSX. Glad to hear that I don't need to buy some more ram at the current elevated prices.
