Looking for VA that will allow unlisted airports, etc

Most VA's that use ACARS programs are limited in the fact that you can only fly to standard airports that are listed in your flightsim.

Is there a VA or ACARS software that would allow you to fly to unlisted airstrips, cabin locations and other "off airport" places?

I'm not a programmer, but I would think the acars system would need to have a pre-determined location for the software to recognize the destination. I'm sure with a known location, i.e. coordinates, one could do that but I would assume this would have to be in some kind of database beforehand. 

Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong...
