If this happens after a longer flight, it's a memory issue.

Keep an eye on the remaining VAS during flights by following the guide on page 15 of the Avsim CTD guide.

If you run low, you'll have to reduce some simulator settings.

I downloaded, installed and ran a test flight from Bergen, Norway to EKVG.  Now if anyone has a weak computer, that would be me.  2GHZ processor and 2GB memory.  My approach into EKVG looked as expected.

New test

I took off from EKVG, flew around the islands  and returned to EKVG.

I have the same VAS value but now there isn't any problem.

No problem. Thank you for your interest. Now I noticed another problem : my runway floats.
I begin to think that there is something wrong with my FSX.

Re install fsx

This isn’t the first time I’ve seen you suggest people reinstall FSX due to a simple problem. I’d say that’s an extreme step to take before all trouble shooting solutions have been exhausted.

Have you checked to make sure you don’t have any duplicate AFCADs? Are you using MyTraffic, ORBX Vector, Ultimate Terrain, or intalled other scenery for that area? If the answer is yes to any of these then it’s possible you could have a duplicate ACFAD or something vector related causing the issue with the scenery you installed.

It may only be the installation of that scenery.  I just looked all around that similar area at the end of runway 31.  From every angle it looks OK.  Do you have the scenery at the top of your Library?

Last thing I can think of is to make sure your Scenery Complexity slider is set to max and maybe also the Autogen slider.  See if that helps.

I installed the scenery too and see absolutely no problems.  UTLive was working and a GA aircraft was taxiing for takeoff.  The scenery actually looks very good.

Just to check, you did install FaroeIslandsv5 right?  There is also scenery done for FS9 but v5 is for FSX users.  According to the read me:

Settings

The scenery runs well on an intel quad 9550 CPU and 9800 GT card with 1 GB ram. FPS normally 25 or more with small drops in special places, mostly around Torshavn.

  • Mesh resolution 5 meter.
  • Texture resolution 60 centimeters
  • Mesh complexcity 99.
  • Scenery complexity very dense if you want all objects to show up.
  • Autogen density very dense.

DX 10 preview of your choise. Turned off, you get much better performance and almost now lost in quality.

The mesh complexity will raise things up or down so you might want to play with that depending on your resolution.  My resolution is 2560x1440 and it fits better at 82.  I did not include any image as it looked the same as Charlie's.

Best regards,

Jim
