Visible from high altitude?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm considering purchasing Firefighter X, My primary reason is purely so I have a visual depiction of live fires as they occur in the real world while I cruise along my route. Alot of my flying is high altitude up in the FL's. My question is will the fire and smoke etc be visible from such altitudes or do I need to be below a certain height to see the effects?

Regards,

Matt

Hello Matt,

can't say that I ever tested this. But it will probably not work that well at high altitudes. Particle effects are only visible inside a range of 7-9 nm, and they don't live long enough to reach high altitudes. You won't see much of a smoke "cloud" cover over them either. We are still experimenting with this in the professional version of FFX, but without much success to get that type of visuals into the simulator at runtime. It is not much of a problem if made static as part of the scenerey, but that is not what FFX is about.

Best regards
