Cant believe they finally fixed the UTC time issue. Presumably an easy fix yet its been a long time like that.

As we all know I'm the biggest moaner on here.  Looks like they have done a good job and there's a lot of fixes there. Notably the age old timezones.  Will be interesting to see if that fixes the newfoundland crash.  Hopefully once fsl have released their patch we might be able to fly a 320 into klax with orbx socal on without it being a stutter fest

No one needs anything in the world of flight sim - but for what it's worth, MD80 will work with 4.2, and I'm pretty sure you'll be able to fly the FSL bus sometime this week in 4.2 as well.

Having said that, I'd like to hear a bit more about active sky, PTA and FSUIPC - there's plenty of reasons to be concerned about the latter two. And I haven't seen any mention of Rex Skyforce, either.

Active sky ASP4 has an update for 4.2 same for ORBX (run FTX central)

I would like to know if the timezones fix means that I can uninstall the Time Zone Fixer from Sim Elite Solutions.

Since it appears fsuipc breaks v4.2 and Pete is not back till February 20th, looks like I and anybody else that relies on it is stuck until then with 4.1

Is it just me, or is everyone thinking we should we register Pete with the likes of Punxsutawney Phil for predicting P3d updates based on his vacation schedule?

As far as accuracy goes, Pete is WAAAY ahead of Phil in this regard!

How do i update

There is a document in your Prepar3d user account describing the update process in detail. There is another document by Poppet Elaine under

https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/495199-updating-prepar3d-v3-v4-using-the-update-component-installers/

Both are suggested reading.

Kind regards, Michael

Sorry for my ignorance, but what happens with addons, especially ORBX stuff that are installed into the main p3d folder (all other stuff is installed outside the p3d folder) when you  separately reinstall Content and Scenery? Do you need to reinstall, or the addons remain untouched?
