It's a unified tool for scenery animation developers, is not clear?

It's up to add-on developers to use it.

As previously stated, I don't really use it because I see little benefit from its functionality - even as an end user.  I can understand its appeal to some, but it is of little value to me.  Of all the animations possible in the sim I find hangar doors opening and jetways docking of the least appeal.

In my opinion, CTRL_J animation in P3D is ugly as the face of Mr. Putin

This is really strange.

How did you even happen to notice this  SODE Jetways not working thread then?

I go to the GSX menu and I click "Operate Jetway" at FSDT's KIAH (Houston).

But, it says, SODE uunavaliable, Jetways will not animate.

I click Test DLL connection and:

SODE JETWAY CONTROL SYSTEM is up and running (N=0)!

I'm running SODE 1.5.3 and Virtuali says to update SODE.

But this is the newest version of SODE and i'm running the newest version of GSX.

When I go to the SODE menu it says:

No triggerable objects found in 6.5 nm / 12km...

I see this at EVERY airport.

So, whats the prob?

The title of the thread is totally misleading.

How about "SODE Jetways working great!!" provided you have updated to the latest SODE/Scenery version and using add-ons that support SODE??

You're getting overly emotional about my emotional detachment to SODE

Lol, I didn't even mention/answer you, mate in my previous post.

Nothing personal but you seem to have a wrong notion of what SODE is about.

Yes whatever. Substantive part is that SODE is not to blame for your/anybody's jetways not working in context.

The problem is not in SODE. The problem is with add-on developers who don't use SODE jetways or don't script SODE jetways properly.

Well I was referring to airports/developers that use SODE. And these are the ones that give me trouble. So the problem definitely lies with SODE. The only mistake the developers are making is making use of it.

sode is more than jetways it's animations of surrounding scenery and plus you can get dual Jetways at a stand using sode. default jetways are very limited in range and animations. sode is the future.

But surely all these animations can be achieved without the use of SODE? I'll give you the dual jetways though. Ctrl+J doesn't work those properly.

That's their developers' choice, but they spend more time on contemplating which tools to use in their products. SODE is one of them.

SODE works just fine. Some developers even those that use it - do not. No problem with SODE. The problem is with some add-on airports that don't use SODE properly due to developers' fault.

I just reinstalled SODE and by that reinstall my DD Design New York airports.

A short hop to KEWR in the PMDG 747 and no gates at position with SODE . Then i tried the GSX menu (7 - Customize this parking position) and funny enough GSX said this position has no gateway . ? So i changed it to "yes it has" and then it worked.

Hopefully this was is not the standard protocol because i need to focus on my checklist and fuel calculations :-)

Thanks

Michael Moe
