Hi Gerard,

I'm using your all month package, as my PTA of choice, I have ASP4, ASCA, ENVTEX, P3DV4.2, in windows 10.

The outside scenery is fantastic, This is on three ASUS ROG 144Hz monitors in wide view.

My only question, and I'm not sure wether I'm asking the right person, my Virtual Cockpits are quiet dark and dull.

I say this as I recently purchased the Milviz 310R, the Virtual Cockpit is very dark, but with the internal lights turned on its great, but I also purchased the F1 KingAir 200!!!

The Virtual Cockpit in this is very Dull, dark and even with all the cockpit lights on during the day, has a very Dark view.

In General, most of my Virtual Cockpits are on the Dark side?

I have addressed this on the Flight 1 forums, but one of the moderators showed a screenshot of his cockpit during day light hours and its great.

So is there any adjustments I can make in your All Year PTA settings that might lighten up my Virtual Cockpits?

Dynamic Lighting is off in P3dV4.

Failing this, would you have any other advice, that may brighten, lighten up my day virtual cockpits?

Ps: Keep up the great work, it makes Flight Simulation an absolute pleasure.

Very nice preset.. I second the above comment about the dark Virtual Cockpit. Could you kindly say which setting to change within PTA just to make that VC a bit brighter.

Hi guys,

Because of new hardware I had to reinstall W10 , P3D and many software.

If I remember it correctly : Ambient Sunlight in "Aircraft VC lighting & Saturation" is responsible for the darkness. Lower values is more darkness.Higher values is more brightness. Ambient Sunlight is responsible for overal lighting.

You can do the same fro the moonlight settings if you want to.

regards

Gerard

I only get a good image (no black ground or flashing clouds) when I turn of the custom tweaks.. :S

What does it contain making it..custom? as in it says cloud directional lighting etc?

Hi Gerard,

Admittedly I haven't tried your v12 presets yet - but I was wondering if you could help me.  I love your presets, but even on a moonless night, my clouds are clearly visible and fairly bright.  Tried turning HDR down from 1.2 to 0.8 and even then they are still visible.

Is there something in PTA I can change, that would theoretically change them to being invisible at night?  Or make them much darker at night?  I am wondering what specific setting I need to have a look at.

Cheers for any help you can offer,

Rudy 🙂

Do you know which specific setting in PTA does this, Gerard?

As in can I just adjust the night brightness, or will it affect them at day too?

Thanks!

Rudy

Hi Gerard,

I'm using your all month package as I love them except for one (not little) thing: though the outside scenery is very good, all virtual cockpits are too dark.

Following your recommendation I increases the Ambient sunlight to a higher value (as much as 2!) but even so I prefer the VC looking without using PTA!

That is a pity because the outside landscape without PTA is bad!

Do you have any suggestions I can try to make VC lighter?

Many thanks!
