Weird FS direction problem

Recommended Posts

Guest alanrco

Heading bug set to 90 deg (AP set to this). Actually going east (can see the sea ahead - and cntrl-s shows this) but compass and FS reports heading 360. Weird, eh? Hope this don't happen in RL!Alan

Were you flying in the Bermuda Triangle? What area of the world did that happen? That is wierd though. I would worry if that did happen in real life.

This topic has come up several times lately. Did you install any 3rd party scenery before you noticed the problem? You might want to disable any addon scenery and see if the problem goes away. There was a thread here a few weeks ago about a South American scenery which broke magnetic variation all over the globe. The scenery contained a corrupt exclude file. Once this file was removed, the problem disappeared.Let us know if this helps.Todd

Alan,It's your default flight. Delete it and start a new flight with your favotite airplane. Make it dark and cold and then save your flight again and make it default (may use the same filename as delted before). The reason why this bug appears is because you have saved your default flight before including a flightplan that has not been cleared before saving.Hope it helps. If you have anymore trouble please leave a mail.Regards,Jeroen van SchoneveldVelserbroekThe Netherlandshttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpghttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpgASUS A8N-SLI, AMD Athlon 64 4000+ (2,4 Ghz) San Diego processor, 2Gb DDR 400 Mhz Corsair Mem, ASUS V6800 PCIE Ultra 256 MB video

The area is East Anglia in UK. I had earlier updated the addon airports scenery from the excellent UK2000 website for this area. Will disable and try again. Thanks for your repliesAlan

Hi AlanYou might also want to press 'D' to reset your gyro drift (assuming your realism settings is set to simulate this).BRGDSSven Sorensen, EKCH

This is what happens when an AFCAD file for FS2002 sneaks into FS2004.Adam
