Black screen since installing 4.2

Hi all,

I now notice when loading into a flight before the scenery appears the screen seems to be completely black for a little while. I've never had this happen before. I know there is an issue at the moment with the PMDG 747 and a black screen and CTD but this is happening to me with default aircraft.

I saw similar after updating and still to a lesser extent after a full reinstall. More a minor irritation than a big problem though.
