Dynamic Friction

Recommended Posts

I recently came across the DynamicFriction for FSUIPC, but realised that asoon as I apply manual braking (even a split second tap) braking returns to default and the plane comes to a halt within seconds. I also noticed that applying and releasing the parking brake fixes this, but this is a bit of a pain in itself because if I take a turn at low speeds, I'll come to a halt anyway by applying and releasing the parking brake. Quite a dilemma!

I was wondering if there was a fix, alternative or just something that provides a similar feel just without this rather frustrating bug. Thanks!

EDIT: Just tried the Friction lua instead of DynamicFriction (not sure if they're the same or not) and it appears to also happen.

The FSUIPC experts are here as well:

If you are unable to get the results you desire with FSUIPC, then you may wish to check this utility out; do some research, check the reviews, etc.:

Hi, thanks for letting me know of that first forum, I made a post there too regarding the situation. Preferably I wouldn't like to purchase any other software, but I notice a lot of people use this, but not many people have reported this issue which leads me to believe I'm at fault, and I'm hoping someone has an idea of how I might be able to resolve the issue.

Hmm, after further "investigation" it appears that it's not actually a software fault but instead the brakes in FSX are staying active for quite a while after I release them, and applying/releasing the parking brake resolves that issue. Would you any idea of how this might be happening, or how to resolve it? Thanks again!

What are you using to apply brakes? keyboard, joystick button, rudder pedals with toe brakes?

I'm using Saitek Rudder Pedals.

ok, me too. Are you using the latest drivers for the pedals? if not, that should be first on the list. Second, being that you may be having calibration issues do not use FSUIPC to calibrate them, use the Saitek driver calibration.

It's been quite a long time since I've updated the drivers, so most likely that could be one of the problems. Could you point me in the right direction to download the drivers?

Logitech is now supporting Saitek products, latest drivers for rudder pedals are here:

If you have the Saitek yoke those are separate drivers and can be found here:

Looking at the date of the Rudder Pedal drivers last update, I'm 90% sure I have latest drivers but to be on the safe side I will reinstall them and get back to you as soon as possible!

You are my savior! Absoloutely shocked that worked as I was so sure my drivers were up to date, but evidently not. The issue is resolved, and I love you for it.

Thank you very much, an even longer headache gone!
