save state

Recommended Posts

Sorry if this has been asked before. Are there any plans to add a save state feature to Pilot2ATC?

I think that it is quite a useful feature if a flight gets interrupted due to e.g. a crash of the sim. On the other hand, one can argue that you can't reproduce the flight accurately enough in sim to return to the saved ATC situation.

Probably it would only make sense if the flight status is also saved together with the ATC. Wondering if this is a feature you are considering.

You are correct that "saving state" wouldn't work.  If the SIM crashes, about the only option is to start over, unless the SIM saved its state.

However, there is a process that can get you back flying again after a P2A Crash if you are on departure or en-route.  IF the SIM saved its state and you can get back to where you were, then use this same process to get P2A sync'd again.  You may have to restart P2A in that case.

1) Start P2A and Load the exact same flight plan you were flying before the crash

2) File the flight plan

3) Contact the Departure or Center controller.  You may have to contact a different controller and request a frequency change to Center

4) Make the appropriate initial call like <CallSign> at FL xxx

Pilot 2ATC will likely be able to figure out where it is and proceed from there.

Thanks Dave, I'll give this a try with an auto saved flight from FSUIPC or the FSXSave tool which still works in Prepar3D.

Better not to have a crashed sim in the first place though
