Madog experiencing crash to desktop

Recommended Posts

The aircraft is experiencing crash to desktop for no apparent reason.Sitting on the ground or in mid flight. Not having any issues with any other 3rd party payware. Running high end system w/ P3Dv4.2 This vehicle seams very unstable. Also if I expand or reduce from full screen it crashes immediately.  Any idea why this is happening ?  Also getting a map fail error on the MFD often. Would appreciate a solution.

Ive been getting random CTDs as well. Mine have been towards the end of a flight when i bring up the FMC popup. Sometimes when i input something into the FMC the game will freeze then CTD, and when i check the event log there is nothing. It has happened 2-3 times and im doing more testing to see if i can reproduce, hence i didn't create a topic just yet for it

Friends,

If you're experiencing a CTD, please use AppCrashView and provide the results here in the forum.  Please also include your full system specs and the sim you are using.  It would also be very helpful if we knew what (if anything) you had pressed to make P3D freeze up, go into a processing loop, or CTD. Sometimes this isn't easy to know.

When providing the AppCrashViewData it is not necessary (or desired) that you copy and provide all of the data. Simply double click on the P3D CTD line then take a screen shot of the pop up screen.  If you're not able to provide this screen shot then you can copy the crash data in the lower window just down to the last of the "Sig" lines.

I have isolated it to happening when I switch screens it crashes. It will not allow me expand or minimize my views for some reason it freezes and sometimes have to force quite out of P3D only when fly MD-80  Very odd .....  Not sure how to access the APP crash report

Sorry, I had thought I had given the link to AppCrashView... you have it now.  You don't install it, just unzip and run it.

Best wishes.

Good day,

I'm having a lot of great flights with the Maddog, but sometimes i have some crashes too.

Today, just clicked the DEP/APP button on FMC and just hanged the P3D.

Sig[4].Name=Hang Type
Sig[4].Value=134217984

Using a I7, 7700K, 1080ti, P3Dv4 with last update, Activesky, REX Skyforce...

Please, check my first message..... "P3Dv4 with last update"

Respectfully, we're a little too busy to go back to past messages, it's far more helpful to use to receive all the information in one post.

Many thanks.

To be sure, there are many former Maddog users who get it, and there posts in these forums are extremely valuable.  But sir, don't you think you should be making the efforts of people who try to help you worthwhile?  What do you do instead?  Fail to comply with a very simple and basic request.  From what you provided there is absolutlely no way we can even know that the Maddog played a part in your issue.

And your decision is to reply with a passive-aggressive insult to someone taking his time to help you?  In doing this, you present a very nasty image of yourself.  I for one will no longer deal with you, and I'm going to speak to the owner about providing you with a refund.  We did not do all this work to be treated like this.

I'm very sorry Dave but i don't understand very well your last message.

Was not trying to reply with a passive agressive insult. Just tryied to note the info was on my the first message.

English is not my native language and i'm trying to explain and to complete all info you need to solve the maddog problems.

I'm very very happy with the Maddog and some initial problems are expected. Why should i request a refund????

I will try to explain this in a PM now.

Sir,

Thank you for telling me that English is not your first language, this helps me to understand things better.

I was simply trying to tell you that it is very helpful to us to have all the information in one place so that we don't have to hunt for it or ask for it.  I know that many don't release, but we're sometimes replying and going back and forth with several people at the same time, while doing other things as well, and we want to get back to you with a solution or at least get the data to help us track things down as soon as possible.

I took exception to the "keep your job" comment because in my country that can be construed to be a negative comment.

I'm happy we've had an opportunity to resolve this, and get you the help that you deserve.

If you have problems in the future, then just refer to my first post and try to provide the information, I'll let you know if we need anything else.

Right now, could you please provide the first lines of the AppCrashView Report...

The problem referenced in your Crash Report means that the problem is very likely not with the Maddog software.

You can try moving your "add-ons.cfg" file out of your LM Roaming folder, restart P3D which will then rebuild it.

If the above doesn't work then it's possible that you have an issue with your Microsoft Visual C++ Version used for the Maddog. I don't recall which version that was, so I've asked and I'm waiting for a reply. In the meantime you can make sure you have the most update versions of all of them.

NOTE: I did notice early on that the Maddog installer doesn't re-install the C++ version it uses. Most FS products today do this in order to prevent problems.  I'm going to ask to have it added.

So I'll be getting back to you on this.
