RNAV approaches

Of course the B737 can, but I am referencing the PMDG NGX product and its limits.  Sorry, the TLA NGX refers to a PMDG simulator and not the real aircraft, which is a NG.

Understood, thanks.

Hello Richard, this is purely an addendum.  If you purchase Navigraph Jeppesen Charts (assuming you havnt already) you will see all the various approaches for the airports including the one I especially like an RNP whereby you follow waypoints from a Fix right down to the runway with no aids to help you thereby using visuals.  With an added monitor in outside view it gives added value. Dan has suggested that my 777 should not attempt to use RNAV approaches. I do not know what 'IAN' stands for as I am not a 737 flyer. Thanks, Dan.

IAN is Integrated Approach Navigation.  They are quite fun to learn if your up for the challenge.

Gentlemen,

I have eagerly read each of your contributions. Many thanks.

I originally posted this topic in the General Forum because I didn't realise that there are variances between aircraft. Now I know better!

I have now flown my B77W into YMML rwy34 successfully using RNVZ34.

Again, many thanks.

Cheers, Richard

Maybe this video can be of help aswell:

It's a demo video from FSI-panel demonstrating an RNAV-approach into Katmandu ...

A question that have been popping up now and then, and one I am eager to know is; "will pmdg update the fmc's to be able to do RF legs (radius to fix), and otherwise up to Airinc 424 standards?".

Navigraph has already stated that they can deliver the data, if addon publishers require it :)

Hi,

I'd say, SBAS and GBAS emulation, If I may, with radio panels...

Not sure I understood your post.

Is this a response to mine? If so I'm not following you, is Sat/Ground based augmentation an equivalent to what I'm asking?

Or is it a additional request to PMDG?

:)

If you don't fully understand RNAV, please be careful to note that, so that people don't assume you are speaking from a position of authority/knowledge.

I have a pdf from a recurrent I went through a while back that is excellent.  If I can figure out how to post the information with out violating the copyright I will get RR' s permission and post it.

Sorry I was very unclear. It was an additional request ! (but in the general move to improve simulated approach capabilities that you suggested with your ARINC suggestion).
