Oh no, it is much more than that.  A surprisingly number of people use FB as their only source of news,  much to the delight of the Russians.

Facebook and Google mine data. That's a principal reason as to why they're free. If you don't agree with this, don't use them. Pretty simple.

If you want something, you're going to pay for it somehow.

 

As for Facebook, you can see our page without an account. Still, I'm sure a post will make it here.

I see them both as a necessary evil in the Wild Wild Web - but bandits they be! mining data - craftily targetting ads, selling on the trending, selling on your data trail, etc.

I think it's been stated here already - that the announcement on FB will be in parrallel with an announcement in the old country, i.e: here.

Now: you may place your tin foil hats back on, though the discussion about data use and ethics will need to occur elsewhere. If you don't want to share your data, fine - don't jump on the Facebook train. All the same, calling companies 'bandits' for selling data they specifically tell you that they will sell is a bit rich. It's almost like when people get bent out of shape when they book through Travelocity (et al) and are completely mystified as to how they were first on the list to get bumped on an oversold route. *puts thinking cap on* "I wonder silently to myself how and why that seat was so cheap...hmmmmmmm..." *light bulb flicks on*

It has not been specifically confirmed either - however, Chris, I am becoming increasingly concerned that the next PMDG announcement will be heavy on the "MD" and less on the "B787".
