PMDG 747v3 P3D 4.2 no light reflections on aircraft

Recommended Posts

Ever since P3D 4.2 and the 747 hotfix, I have noticed that there are no longer light relections on the aircraft at night for example:

-strobe light reflection on outer engine pylon, winglets and tail cone

-glow of nav lights on outer part of wing and winglets

However, these things appear fine on my NGX and 777. Is it just me or can someone confirm this? Is it worth re-installing the 747

Got the same issue and tried reinstalling the 747 and repaints with no luck.

Reinstallation is almost never the solution of any problem and should only done if developers tell you. It won‘t solve anything most times.

DL is activated in your options?

have you tweaked your .cfg in any way?

Do you use aftermarket shaders like PTA?

Guys,

Please remember the proper way to ask support for such thinks is the ticket portal to be sure that it will be looked after. We have missed the initial post but I checked here and confirmed that this is indeed true and have notified the development team to check.

Oh, good to know, thanks... I have always thought it was my PTA setting but as I have never cared about my outside views and liked the setting too much... :)

Guys,

I checked with the development team and the current behavior is the correct behavior on the 744 for these lights, confirmed with the real aircraft as well.

Thank You. I decided not to re-install and went on to fly many lovely flights. Sadly two weeks ago a windows update failed and I had to reinstall EVERYTHING haha. I can confirm the light stuff still happens but I now know its how its supposed to be.

P.S: if the HDMI cable disconnected (it was accidentally pulled out of the port) during the installation of the 747 Ops centre update, Would that have harmed the installation or it doesn't matter either way? Asking for a friend

I'm not really sure what the HDMI cable has to do with installing the plane. If you had ripped out the hard drive or maybe the power supply, I guess that would be a different situation altogether.

Before I forget, The new update also makes the 747v3 engine #4 fan blade to freeze during a certain range of N2 in startup and shutdown

I would like to understand what makes you think that...

because its PMDG style. For example the new tech from the 747v3 such as the dim and bright dome lighting, groun fiction and so were passed onto the 777 after the queen of the sky was released
