Things that should jiggle and those that shouldn't!

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Any help on the following would be appreciated!

1, When I advance the throttles on any PMDG model the power increases ok but the engine indication needles are very jumpy and twitchy, In the past they have advanced very smoothly so I assume its something with my settings but so far unable to find the setting that would control this.

2, Also on the jumpy theme on the 747 the numerals on the MCP which should "jiggle" a little like on the real aircraft no longer do and dial up smoothly as per the 777, again this is a recent development as they used to do this, not sure if this was something that broke in the 4.2 update or again is my settings.

Neither issue a real problem but like to have it correct if possible, as I said any help is appreciated.

This is going to be hardware, or bad frame rates (more likely the former).

You using the 400ER, perhaps? Those are digital.

Smooth animations on the base 400, though, would indicate a frame rate issue, perhaps, which would tie into the above.

I thought of a few things, so...

Ian,

I wasn't sure what I was going to find looking into this thread.

Do you happen to have FSUIPC installed?  If so, delete the config file and remap the controls...

If not- it might be worth looking at whatever software/driver you use for your throttle:  Disconnect the hardware (pull the plug out of the machine) and use the F2/F3 keys to move the throttle up/down...  is the problem cured?  If yes- then it is definitely the software connecting your throttle to the software...

Hope that helps- and thanks for the snicker.  (Yes- we will always be teenage boys...)

Hello Rob,

While we are on the 747 in P3D4.2, I have noticed that there are no longer any light splashes on the A/C model at night e.g reflection of strobes on pylons and fuselage and glow of Nav lights on winglets. I have also noticed that the nav lights appear smaller and the #4 engine fan

blade texture freezes between 25 N2 and the idle engine N2 (freezes during startup and shutdown).

Are these P3D-isms from v4.2 or should I consider re-installing

I installed the op centre hotfix with antivirus and firewall off by the book and updated P3D (client, content and scenery) via the separate installers first. Only another thing I did was re-install the content installer because I forgot to backup default textures for REX.

Thank You Kindly,

Valesius Faulkner
