You have to make a few manual entries to start the DFDR, otherwise it won't output anything. See Volume 2, 02_Procedure Guide in the docs folder. Page 9 has the info that tells you how to start the Data Recorder.

Thank you very much. I think I have read that part too fast...

I have a .txt file in the folder with data in the file, but is there a guide which explains the columns in the data file?

Also, it would not appear the lat/long are included in the file.

There are headlines to each column that are rather suggestive for most of them. Here's what I managed to figure - from left to right.

1) time

2 + 3) Event by name (flaps, gear up/down etc.)

4) Baro Alt.

5) Radio Alt.

6) IAS

7) TAS

8) Ground Speed

9) Vertical Speed (feet/min x 10)

10 ) Heading

11) BNK (probably bank but not sure as for the units, perhaps deg x 10)

12) ATT (probably attitude, probably deg x 10)

13) ACF ?

14) ACS ?

15) ACV ?

16-21) EP1, N11, N21, EG1, FF1, FU1 - EPR, N1, N2, EGT, Fuel Flow, Fuel Used engine 1

22-27) EP2, N12, N22, EG2, FF2, FU2 - EPR, N1, N2, EGT, Fuel Flow, Fuel Used engine 2

28) RAT?

29-34) FT1, OP1, OT1, OQ1, HP1, HQ1  - Fuel temperature, Oil pressure, Oil Temp. , Oil Quantity, Hydraulic Press. , Hydraulic Quantity Engine 1

35-40)  FT2, OP2, OT2, OQ2, HP2, HQ2  - Fuel temperature, Oil pressure, Oil Temp. , Oil Quantity, Hydraulic Press. , Hydraulic Quantity Engine 2

That's what I make of it, if anyone has more insight  then of course they are welcomed to add or correct.

I tried to set the Flight Recorder but I still dont get any recordings...

I followed the instructions in the Manual - Vol2 - 02_Procedure Guide - "Cockpit Preparation" on Page 9 of the PDF.

What do you guys setup to get the recorder working?
