Camera switching in multimonitor mode

Recommended Posts

I need the help of a camera specialist for P3D/PMDG/NGX. I use three TVs quite close to my B737 homecockpit to show the environment. Due to the double seater cockpit I want to switch between captain and copilot view. This is done via the hotkeyselect function defined in the cameras.cfg. The front TV puts the visible runway straight in front of the flying pilot. Works perfect.

The TVs left and right with cameras heading - 60° and + 60° should follow this change, too. But the hotkeys work only for the active (or focussed?) window. Is there a way to switch the three cameras with one hotkey at once?

Of course, it works with a window streched over three monitors. But then the perspective is wrong (zoom should be below 0.3, not possible) and manual landing gets very difficult. And "wide view" gives inacceptable deformation at sides. So I am forced to use three individual windows.

Does somebody unterstand my problem and have some advice? Thank you very much.

Unfortunately there was no answer up to now. But in the meantime I found a solution myself. There is a function called "View group management" in the views menu, where you can extend an existing camera on one display to multiple displays, extending the view left and right, but also above and below. After that, a right-click in the main display gives you the possibility to select the required "view group". All extended displays follow the changes in the main display. That's very convenient and would cover my needs best. An autofill function simplifies the use of it.

But there is a problem, if you have more than 3 displays, but you only want 3 displays as visual (the typical homecockpit situation). The autofill function cannot be used any more, because this would fill all available displays. You define a display grid, e.g. 3 horizontal, 1 vertical, and define the total view angle, in my case +/- 95°. Then you have to adjust the zoom so that display boarders coincidence (with my setup 0.5 is fine). And here is my problem: I cannot fix the zoom for both cameras at saving the flight. One is fine after a new start, the other switches always back to 1 and must be corrected to 0.5 again. In the aircraft.cfg the zoom for both cameras is set to 0.5, but this does not help. Even a zoom of 0.5 for both cameras in the flight file (***.fxml) does not help.

Well, my hope is small, that someone can help me. But I could imagine, that the development team knows much more about this extraordinary function and can give me some advice?

Best regards
