For goodness sake, just release the update to make it compatible with FSX-SE!

At this point there's not much sense in them focusing on SE. It does actually work with SE (despite violating EULA etc), so far I've had no issues running it on SE, I think all systems are working perfectly fine as intended. They're planning to roll it out onto P3D, which frankly makes more sense. They should have brought out support for SE years ago, but now it's too late. Most people are moving over to X-Plane or P3D

Actually, credit where credit is due... This is a fantastic little plane. I'm really enjoying it, I love it's little quirks like exploding engines, config warnings and completely confusing autopilot system. I'm slowly getting to grips with it but I'm really enjoying it. The documentation so far combined with various YouTube videos has made this quite a rapid aircraft to learn. Helped also by random clicking of buttons for 'science purposes'.

Some of us, not using FS2Crew, have found that the IAS hold mode doesn't work, I'd be interested to know if your experience is different.

If PMDG did release the FSX:SE version they were developing then it would do a lot to restore my faith in them as a company that followed up on what customers had been led to expect.  There may not be many takers for it at this point but I'd have thought that reputation mattered in the commercial world.

No in fact mine doesn't either. I'm not sure whether I'm doing it wrong but it didn't hold the IAS I set. I'll have to play around with the autopilot a little more to see for definite.

Is IAS Hold only meant to work in climbs and descents?

Also, how do you load your aircraft cold and dark? I have to reload a flight essentially 3 times to get it to work. Once for the livery, another time at the right airport and another for the correct time.It's not ridiculous but it's very annoying

IAS is not recommended for descents. To load your aircraft cold and dark you really need fs2 crew that shuts it down quick.

im surprised that punters fly this without a co pilot. its not natural and a lot of work!

Yeah, you're right. I should use FS2 Crew, for some reason I've always just made do with me doing all the work (at the expense of proper checks) but I don't fly regularly so I've not been able to justify costs. And now more so seeing as I'm planning to move across to P3D I'll hold out a little longer.

Many thanks Peter. I'll check it out again. I read it before but for some reason I thought it was much more complicated than what it is.

Also any discussion on how to be installed/used in FSX SE is not allowed us using it in FSX SE breaks the EULA.

The above statement is unexpected, unappreciated, unfair and contemptuous towards customers. It also places those who have had the product in FSX:SE for a long time in a difficult position; PMDG has been aware of this through previous discussion within these forums for years and never raised an issue until now.

It is accepted the product is not supported by PMDG in FSX:SE, but for the purposes of the EULA we agreed to in October 2009 FSX:SE is still FSX (in the same way FSX SP1, FSX SP2, FSX Gold, FSX SE are all FSX), unless you can indicate the part of the EULA which restricts us to certain FSX versions?

@SeaHawk14@AndyUK

Especially when the only support I asked for was how to activate the legally purchased add-on 🙄

Thanks for the information. I'm sure somehow it'll be argued that somehow it's not FSX.
