For those struggling with opaque windows

I've seen some questions about why some 3rd party repaints have opaque windows.

Since there was no documentation included with the paintkit, painters had to figure out what was controlling the opacity of the windows.

After some investigation, I discovered that the opacity of the windows is controlled on the Alpha layer as shown below on the FWD_T texture.

The paintkit made no mention of this (there was no readme or instructions), and the all white, BMP files included for the texture maps did not even contain an alpha layer of any sort.  The best thing to do is refer to an existing paint and review its alpha layer for guidance.

I believe you might refer to the questions I posted elsewhere around the forum, thank you for having looked into this and for the hint you gave to the other painters ... I really hope they'll take advantage of your advice, should I go back to the paintshop myself I'll certainly do :-)

No worries Dave...I just wish there was a little guidance included in the kit for folks who needed a little help with painting.   It was not a good paintkit at all and I've spent more time fixing issues with it or adding details I thought should have been included with a payware release of this great caliber.

Hey Francesco,

Yes this what I was referring to.  I thought posting it here would get better coverage than in the paint request forum.  I hope this help all the painters having this issue.

I'll mention this to the two guys who made the paint kit. I'm sure they will appreciate your comments.
