Runway Lengths in HUD

Recommended Posts

On airport charts in Europe RW lengths and elevations are given in meters.  I suppose you must convert to feet (multiply by 3) to enter in the HUD ?

Or is there a way to set up the HUD to use meters ?

Good question.  The only units options I believe are available is the weight units (kg/lb) and of course the barometer.  The trick I use is to grab the runway length from the landing INIT page, which provides the value in feet.  This saves the mental conversion exercise.

It should be sufficient to use the meters value times 3 for use with the HGS.. not perfectly by SOP but absolutely fine for Sim use.
