Question about transponder "hotkey"

I've assigned a keypress to the transponder entry in P2A Config-Buttons tab.

I assume this is just to be triggered (simple press, or a press and hold?) by the IDENT button on my transponder. True? If so will it ever be needed on my rather short flights (ess than two hours, always)?

Glad you got the PTT buttons working.

The Transponder Hot Key is not for Ident.  P2A does not currently use Ident.

The HotKey is for cycling the Transponder mode (Off-Standby-Acitve/Air-Test).  I suspect you'll be doing that in your cockpit so you might be able to free up an F key.

Ah, thanks for that! Yes, I have the appropriate switchery for this. How does Pilot2ATC read the mode to ensure it is getting the code? Currently it'll just be something in an offset, for ProSim mainly, and I think Squawkbox in case that's in use (I did try it for a while once).

The modes are effectively Off - TA - TA/RA (i.e with altitude too) and Test. For you you'd only need to know TA and TA/RA as "active".

The mode is being read/written at offset 6D8C.  It's being interpreted as off, standby, On, and Test.  It needs to be in TA/RA mode for ATC to be happy.

How was that offset decided upon? In my list it says:

6D88-6DAF = USED BY XPUIPC!!!

so generally it's avoided. It's in a "reserved"section in the main offsets list.

I'll have to check what offset I currently use for ProSim ... Ah, 436F with values:

0 = Off
1 = Standby
2 = TA
3 = TA/RA
4 = Test

Are those the values you use?  Seems I'll need to change my PFCcom64 driver to set your offset too!

No: easier to copy the setting over from one offset to the other in a Lua plug-in. I just need to know the values you expect -- or are they documented in your user guide?
