P3d v4.2 closes down ( not crashing)

Recommended Posts

Upgraded to 4,2 last week and also updated other software and newly installed Little Navmap.

Since then I have been having problems with P3d closing down ( not crashing but simply closing itself down ), the problem seems to occur at the start of a descent, frustrating after a long flight. There is no app crash log data.

Software running

    P3d v4.2

    GSX

    Pmdg 747 QOS

   Active sky P3dv4

   Chaseplane

   Little Navmap

Hardware

  Intel I7 8700

  16GB ram

  GEforce GTX 1070

Anybody help

The software add-ons appear to be compatible with P3DV4 but, modules are loaded at startup via two dll.xml's (one in the P3D.cfg folder and one in the scenery.cfg folder).  These modules load whether you use them or not.  If you have FSUIPC install, make sure it is the latest.

Since there was no AppCrashView or Event, then it must be nothing or a computer system issue.  I read recently where a member's computer was crashing with P3DV4 because their CPU was getting too hot (some overclock too much and not correctly so this can happen).  Another had a dirt/dust building up around the system's fans and it was making the system too hot and P3D was crashing.  So, little things like this.  I get crashes every time I shutdown P3DV4 as a program did not shutdown properly.  To fix this I went into the General settings of P3D and told it to pause whenever I shut down P3D.

Thanks Jim, just had another CTD this time with a log as follows, (don't think its a hardware problem, not long had the machine and spec'd by Chillblast in the UK who specialise in FS PC's)

Any advice would be appreciated

Andrew

I found a similar crash on Lockheed's P3D Forums - https://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=123467.  Your report also indicates a kernelbase.dll error (a system file).  The AVSIM CTD Guide, page 35 has several suggestions for fixing this error but there really is no known fix.  The suggested fixes in the CTD Guide were from other FS members across the Internet who fixed their problems with one of the suggestions.

There have been a lot of problems with ChasePlane as it is in Beta and thus not fully compatible.  I would disable that program and see if this fixes your problem.

My problem is the simulator will just randomly pause, like it would if I hit "P".  To fix , I open control panel then close it and voila, I hit P and it continues. P3dV4, win 10, 6gig invidea.
