New Sim computer Build

Recommended Posts

I moved and have not set up my sim since last year, Now its time to get it up and running again. I have never used the new V4+ P3D and i am excited to see the difference over the version 3++ .

I am building a new sim computer and wanted to know if there is any significant reason to choose the I7 8700k over the I7 7700k.   I will be using the silicon lottery CPU and want to order it ASAP. I will not change my 1080 as it has served me well.

 Your help is appreciated.

You can always talk yourself out of going with the best on the market but I highly recommend the 8700k.  I am very happy with it and it performs great.  Every review I read considers it the current best for gaming and the price isn't bad.  The single core performance is the best you can get right now so while significant is certainly subjective you will appreciate the 8700k.

Lot's of people are happy with their 7700k I am sure but as I said, don't talk yourself out of the best :)

I agree with TravelRunner404.  The added benefit is the 8700K is handily overclocked to 5.0+MHz with a good 240 or 360 AIO liquid cooler.  P3Dv4 loves more CPU cycles, so the 8700K will give you additional headroom.

OC better , memcontroller stronger, more cores ( think the 8600k is better then 7700k) no reason to buy a older chip.
