  • BREAKING CHANGE: Published Knobs L:vars change to per-unit only (was per-device/unit).

We've further improved the auto-detection algorithm in the panel assistant in order to try refining the potential candidates found in the panel.cfg file. In addition, we've fixed a number of issues introduced in the previous version (2.4.1).

The installed canonical ModelDef.xml also benefits from additional comments, GUIDs and groups in order to help 3rd party aircraft vendors getting up to speed with the integration of the Reality XP GNS V2 into their aircraft.

Working on the modeldef.xml revealed shortcomings with some of our published L:vars. Previous versions used to publish per-type/per-unit vars meant to offer the means for 3rd party aircraft vendors to sync the 3D knobs rotation with the 2D gauge. However, this granularity proved to be unecessary so we've reduced the number of L:vars and now publish only per-unit number vars (rxp.GNS_1.knob_powr etc...)

v2.4.1

  • New: Added support to fail RAIM check via L:vars.
  • New: Added discrete inputs L:vars.

  • Enhanced: Interactions with the included Mid Continent MD41-1028 TAWS Control Unit gauge.
  • Enhanced: TAWS auto-detected limits are properly saved in the ini file.
  • Enhanced: Smarter GUI Panel Assistant auto-detection and filters.
  • Enhanced: User's Manual corrections and additional information.
  • Enhanced: Further stability and performance enhancements.

Discrete inputs L:Vars

The GNS V2 FltSim now offers the same capabilities as the X-Plane version with these new L:vars. They permit external device control like in the real units. The GNS V2 now accepts 3 inputs: remote CDI, remote OBS and remote TAWS inhibit. This function is notably show cased in action with the included Mid Continent MD41-1028 TAWS Control Unit gauge!

ModelDef.xml

This version installs a canonical modeldef.xml file so that third party vendors can get started quickly integrating the GNS in their virtual cockpits. (see User's Manual for more details).

** The installer includes the latest PFC DLL 32/64bits but the feature requires a separate GNS Hardware Driver product license to function.

Mid Continent Gauges:

This might be a good time for updating the panels in the Official Panel Configuration Thread with these 2 new gauges!

LinkObs:

With the previous versions, the option used to only connect the HSI OBS to the GPS.

New in v2.4, when using the LinkObs option, the OBS source is either the HSI OBS when the GPS device is connected to the HSI (LinkHsi option), or the VOR1/2  OBS when the GPS device is connected to the VOR (in this case VOR1 or VOR2 depends on the AutoNavSource setting).

NB: FltSim VOR1 OBS and HSI OBS are same source, same simvar, unlike X-Plane.
