Problem installing GTN650 for xplane11

Recommended Posts

I've installed the RealityXP GTN650 and Garmin Trainer, but when I go to the Plugins menu on Xplane11, the GTN650 isn't listed. I can run the Garmin Trainer outside of Xplane11.

I've obviously missed something. I've reinstalled the RealityXP GTN650 twice and it tells me everything is up to date.

Hi,

Please see p4 of the User's Manual. This is: Plugin | Reality XP GTN | GTN 1

Do you see any "Reality XP" plugin submenu? If not, the plugin is not installed or not running.

You might want to review the RXP log files then (see User's Manual for file/path).

Also, have you selected "XPlane11" as an installer target? Did it pick up your XP11 installation folder ok?

Thank you for the quick response.

Yes, I'm looking at Page 4 of the manual and no plugins are listed in the submenu.

Here is the contents of rxpGTN.xpl.log

18/04/12 18:55:39.486 11304 -    ] # win.xpl version 2.4.16.0
18/04/12 18:55:39.485 11304 INFO ]

Yes, I selected xplane11 as the installer target. What files or folders would I see in the xplane11 folder to tell me that the RealityXP GTN650 had installed correctly?

Thank you

You should have: "XPlane\Resources\Plugin\rxpGTN\64\win.xpl" folder

Obviously it runs since it shows a log file.

See user's manual p6, first line, and the footnote.

The Resources\Plugin\rxpGTN" folder has a 32 folder and 64 folder. The 64 folder is empty. The 32 folder has a win.xpl file with a Date Modified of 04/08/2018 4:59PM.

Well, this means the 64bits plugin file has been 'deleted' somehow. Anti-virus quarantined files?

Yes, that's it Windows Defender identified 3 Trojan files shortly after the install which I deleted. How do I reinstall this thing now? When I try to reinstall, the installer tells me "everything is up to date" and nothing changes.

Thanks

Well, you might try uninstalling, then reinstalling?
